Description

By the late 1930s, Ford had 5 lines, not counting their trucks - Ford, Ford Deluxe, Mercury, Lincoln-Zephyr, and Lincoln. A vehicle for every pocketbook or self-image. Things got a little shaky and nervous for the industry in 1941 as it became obvious there was a war on America's horizon. Ford pretty much locked down their offerings as they swung resources into the military effort, but the basic Ford line now had the standard and the Deluxe. Well now they added the Super Deluxe to that, and this is one of those, a 1941 Ford Super Deluxe. they were offered in several body styles - Tudor and Fordor sedans, a sedan coupe, a business coupe and convertible coupe, sedan delivery wagon, and woody station wagon.

I've seen this mysterious term "business coupe" mentioned before. I'm not certain, but I think this is one. It generally means a coupe with no rear seat or a removable one.

The top of the line engine for these was the 221 inch V8, and it came as standard in the deluxe versions.
