The Golden Days of Motoring

This 1951 Chevrolet Deluxe convertible is lovely. As I crouched there in the street framing my shot, I kept grinning, since two separate groups of folks wandered over to admire it. They were older and completely oblivious to me, saying to their companions that their parents had one, etc, etc. One woman opened the door, and began pointing out some of the features to her friend for a moment before she realized that perhaps that might not be appreciated by the owners.

I just crouched patiently and waited.

Note the hood ornament. It's a stylized Impala. Chevrolet didn't actually have an Impala model until 1958, so this might be a precursor of what was in the minds of Chevy's designers at the time.
